With relatively modest prize fund of $35 000, the <strong>championship </strong>attracted a lot of competitors – 41 men and 18 women.</p>
<p>The competition among men was the most intriguing. While <strong>David Henry</strong> walked away in the under 200 lb category (90.7 kg), there was a cut-throat competition between Toney Freemen and <strong>Dennis James</strong> in the open category.</p>
<p>James knew it would be a flop to compete with Freeman for muscle diameter, so he stepped on a stage with only 240 lb, or109 kg (with height of 5.7 feet, his weight is usually 253-260 lb) – relaying on his perfect definition. It paid James off as he was two points ahead of <strong>Freeman </strong>after preliminary judging. However, Toney snatched a victory in the last round with just three points ahead. Henry placed third with as many as 27 points behind Freeman.</p>
<p>We remind that the top three bodybuilders at Pro <strong>Bodybuilding </strong>Weekly <strong>Championship </strong>are allowed to participate in <strong>Mr. Olympia</strong> competition. With Toney and David already qualified for the entry, only Dennis James was enrolled in the Olympians list.</p>

<h3>Leg Straightening</h3>
<p>It is a great exercise if you want to shape the front <strong>hip</strong> area. The exercise is very simple, it is perfect for beginners. Secure some weights on your ankles, sit down on the bench, lay one thigh on the bench completely. Slowly <strong>stretch </strong>the leg out. Once your leg is fully straightened and your muscles are well <strong>squeezed</strong>, hold your leg like that for a moment and then slowly return to the initial position.</p>
<h3>Leg Press (Done on a Special Machine)</h3>
<p>Put your feet wide on the platform if you want to work on the <strong>buttocks</strong>, quadriceps (the muscles which form the front side of the thigh), and thigh biceps (<strong>muscles </strong>which form the back area of the hip from the knee to the buttock). Breathe in, hold your breath. Slowly bend your <strong>legs </strong>in the knees until they are touching your chest. You should not help yourself with the hands so make sure you hold on to something. Slowly push the weight back to the initial position. Breathe out. Your movements should be slow enough so that one breath-hold is enough for one repetition.</p>
<h3>Lounges</h3>
<p>You can work with every leg area, including the side of the <strong>thighs </strong>and all the way to the buttocks and thigh biceps depending on how you do the lounges. Take small weights into each hand and hold your back straight (vertically). Keep your back straight and do 10 lounges with one leg and then with the other one. The movement is right when your knee stays above the toes and the <strong>body </strong>does not shift forward. Remember, the further the lounge is the more the more pressure goes on the buttocks and the thigh biceps. The shorter the lounge the heavier the load is on quadriceps.</p>
<h3>Lounges Walk</h3>
<p>You can do this exercise wherever you want and in place of weight use anything, even milk-packs. It is a perfect workout if you want to maintain the form while do not wish to enlarge your buttocks and <strong>thighs biceps</strong>. First of all choose some obstacle-free area and do 12-20 long, deep lounges forward with each leg. Turn around and do another 12-20 steps.</p>

This exercise can also be done on a bench (in lying position) with weights.</p>
<h3>Arm Cross-Drawing on Blocks</h3>
<p>This is another great exercise which aims at the inner <strong>chest </strong>area. Stand between two high blocks, hold the handles and draw the arms in (top-down) towards the thighs. Then slowly return to the initial position.</p>
<h3>Bench-Press</h3>
<p>This exercise develops literally every tract of the <strong>pectoral muscle</strong>, but requires some proper warm up. Lay down on the bench so that the rod is right above your eyes. Hold it with wide grip; lift the weight up and slowly lower it to the chest so that it touches your <strong>body</strong> roughly in the middle of the chest. <p>Formerly, Marion Jones has already confessed that she used dope prior to the <strong>Olympic Games</strong> in the year 2000, in Sydney. Her confession, however, had little effect on the court’s decision. Moreover, Olympic committee also ruled to take away the five awards at once (including three gold medals), which she won in <strong>Olympics</strong> 2000.</p>

Each type needs a specially designed individual training program. Only such program can provide fast and effective results. Many <strong>bodybuilders </strong>spend a lot of time for the search of their own training system, but the worst thing is that ineffective trainings destroy the faith in sport and steal motivation. There are three major body types which are called somatotypes. <span id="more-90"></span></p>
<h3>Ectomorph</h3>
<p><strong>Ectomorph </strong>is characterised by short trunk, long arms and legs, long and narrow feet and hands, and also little fat deposition. Those people have narrow chest and shoulders, while the <strong>muscles </strong>are long and thin. Ectomorphs have rather fast metabolism, hence they rarely have issues with excessive weight; on the other hand, developing muscles is harder for them.</p>
<h3>Mesomorph</h3>
<p><strong>Mesomorph </strong>has wide chest, long trunk, firm muscle structures and good strength. Those people are born <strong>athletes</strong>.</p>
<h3>Endomorph</h3>
<p><strong>Endomorph </strong>has gentle muscular system, round face, short neck, wide hips, and significant <strong>fat </strong>deposition. Typical endomorph is a chubby person, with a relatively high fat percentage comparing to the <strong>muscle mass</strong>. Those people gain weight rather easily and fast. Fat in those people is usually stored on thighs and buttocks.</p>
<h3>What Body Type Do You Have?</h3>
<p>Unfortunately we do not meet people with clearly defined body type very often. People usually display characteristics of various body types at the same time. Altogether there are about eighty eight subtypes according to the existing classification; the subtypes come about due predominance of some particular features of the main <strong>body </strong>type. The level of predominance is ranked in points, from 1 to 7. For instance, if your body is characterised by ectomorphic characteristics – 2 points, <strong>mesomorphic </strong>-6, and endomorphic – 5, then you are called endomesomorph; your body type is mostly athletic with well developed <strong>muscular </strong>system but at the same time you are predisposed towards excessive fat deposition.</p>

<p>The events of the new movie take place in the future, when opposition under the leadership of John Connor is fighting against computer network “Skynet” which tries to destroy mankind. By the way, the leading role of John Connor in the movie “Terminator: Salvation” will be played by Christian Bail.</p>
<p>Other co-stars in the movie include: Sam Worthington, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Elchin, Moon Bloodgood, and rapper Common.</p>

<h3>A common question about biceps: to bend both arms at once, or to alternate them?</h3>
<p>You can finish a set faster with simultaneous bending, but this seems to be the only advantage the method has. Alternations are much more effective; with this method you can use much heavier dumbbells and perform a greater number of repetitions.</p>
<p>Moreover, with this option you concentrate better on the specific <strong>muscle</strong>, you feel it better. You can watch your techniques more carefully, make sure each repetition is perfect when you work with one hand at a time. If this method is right for you, you can also go for unilateral action so that you can master a couple of extra <strong>repetitions </strong>once you reached your limit at simultaneous arm bending. The extra strength comes thanks to the improved neuromuscular effectiveness.</p>
<h3>Do a whole set with one hand and then go for the other one, or do one repetition with one and then one with the other one?</h3>
<p>The later method gives more rest-time to each hand, but the whole set lasts longer; you can look at it as putting a higher demand on the whole <strong>body</strong>. It is up to you to choose which strategy works best for you since there is no wrong choice here.</p>
<h3>Arm Bending in the Standing Position</h3>
<p>You can perform the arm bending in the standing position, but remember that in this way it will be harder for you not to <strong>cheat</strong>. It can be a good thing and a bad one as well, depends on when and how you use the inertia. Do not do arm bending in the standing position just to improve the muscle tonnage. Remember: the muscle mass is built up not by the weight of the <strong>dumbbells </strong>but by the intensity of the muscle contraction.</p>
<h3>Cheating the Right Way</h3>
<p>The intensity will start decreasing if you cheat right away, from the first repetition. On the other hand, cheating, when used wisely, can help intensity. For example, use <strong>inertia </strong>moderately to contract muscles 1-2 times more once you reach your limit at doing the regular, strict set.</p>
<p>A good solution is to start the set in the <strong>seating </strong>position. Once you reach your limit in this position you can get up and keep on working. You will see that standing position will let you perform a couple of extra repetitions.</p>
<h3>Bench Type and Arm Bending</h3>
<p>Bench inclination is also very important. There is a high tendency to cheat if you just sit on the bench rather than lean on its hack. The angle can vary between 0° to 90°, since different <strong>angles </strong>act differently on the two biceps heads.</p>
<p>Arm bending on horizontal bench makes the biceps work in a unique way, but most of the <strong>gyms</strong>, unfortunately, do not have benches tall enough so that you do not touch the floor when you drop your hands with the dumbbells down. You need to find the tallest bench in the gym and put it on some blocks.</p>
<h3>Long Heads of Biceps and Bench Type</h3>
<p>You can finely stretch the long heads of biceps by performing the exercise on a bench like this. Those heads of the <strong>biceps</strong>, in particular, often are not loaded enough during regular exercises. Your long heads of the biceps will <a title="Coffee Takes off Muscle Weariness" href="http://genxxl.com/diet-nutrition/coffee-takes-off-muscle-weariness/" target="_blank">hurt </a>quite a bit for about 1-2 days after you performed the arm bending on horizontal bench due to the unusual stretching.</p>

Sometimes, for instance at the parties, it is impossible to say no to this drink; but how will it affect the training? Will the stamina go down, will some fat crop up? Let’s investigate what alcohol is and how it affects the <strong>bodybuilder’s </strong>organism. <span id="more-76"></span></p>
<h3>What Is Alcohol?</h3>
<p>Alcohol (ethanol) does not contain <strong>proteins</strong>, carbohydrates, and fat, but has energy value of 7 calories per gram. In terms of its properties, alcohol is more like carbohydrates, but unlike this substance it can not be converted into glycogen and stored in the muscles to be used up later on. Alcohol is toxic for our <strong>body</strong>, it is digested at the rate of 10 grams per hour once it is inside our body. For example, if you drink 200 grams of <strong>vodka</strong>, your body will need 8 hours to get rid of the excess alcohol. This amount of time is sufficient for some irreversible changes to take place, but we can, however, try to compensate them.</p>
<h3>Alcohol Slows Down Anabolic Processes in the Body</h3>
<p>This is the consequence of the fact that gastrointestinal tract absorbs fewer nutrients. Body undergoes amino acid deficiency in the blood - they are of high importance for the <strong>muscles</strong>. Apart from the protein shortage, the glycogen resources drop as well. All of those changes have bad effect on stamina, strength, and speed.</p>
<h3>What Happens, When One Drinks Alcohol</h3>
<p>Once alcohol is consumed the fat metabolism rate drops sharply as well; the reason behind this is that the body starts digesting the alcohol. The substance is rapidly absorbed into the blood-stream in the bowels and then reaches the liver where the first stage of digestion takes place. The enzyme called dehydrogenase converts alcohol into acetic aldehyde - a highly toxic substance. This substance is the culprit behind the unpleasant feelings we usually experience the next morning. Other enzymes convert the acetic aldehyde into acetic acid which is furthermore turned into carbonic acid, water, and energy.</p>
<h3>Drinking Alcohol Is Like Eating Sweets</h3>
<p>You force your body to put fat digestion aside once you consume alcohol. The same situation occurs when you consume large amounts of quick carbohydrates (sweets). The fat is thus stored since its metabolism is slowed down.</p>
<h3>Alcohol and Liquid Loss</h3>
<p>The body looses a lot of liquid under the action of alcohol. Dehydrated muscles lose their elasticity. The transportation process of <strong>healthy </strong>and harmful substances is thus slowed down. Physical activity when the body is in such state will harm the muscle mass and lead to its loss.</p>
<h3>Alcohol and Androgens</h3>
<p>Alcohol facilitates the transformation process of androgens into estrogens. When the blood concentration of alcohol is at its maximum the major male hormone is at its minimum level. That is why beer lovers often suffer from <strong>gynecomasty </strong>and obesity. You’d better forget about strong drinks if you are undergoing a course of <strong>steroids</strong>. Otherwise, your chances of developing gynecomasty will be much higher. As for insulin and growth hormone, their levels drop dramatically as well (in fact they get slashed almost in half).</p>
<h3>Tips to Neutralize the Negative Effect of Alcohol</h3>
<p>How do we compensate alcohol effects and maintain our athletic achievements?</p>
<ul>
<li>Drink a lot of water after each alcohol drink to prevent body dehydration. <strong>Drink </strong>at least a whole litter of water before bedtime.</li>
<li> Also, eat something protein-rich before going to bed; something like cottage-cheese, chicken breasts, or protein shake.</li>
<li> The next morning, 30 minutes before breakfast, take some multivitamins and 10 grams of glutamine washed down with a lot of water.</li>
<li> Have a hearty breakfast giving preferences in the first place to the products rich in <strong>protein</strong>, calcium, phosphorus and iron.</li>
