In 2007, the NHL added some color to its roster of players. Wayne Simmonds born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada was selected in the second round of draft choices as the 61st pick. Born on August 26, 1988….Simmonds at 21 years old has a long and promising hockey career ahead of him. As a Black Canadian in the world of hockey….Simmonds has more than the opposing teams to compete with. The #17 Right Wing (RW) for the LA Kings shoots right and, definitely, played his position well during last night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Although, Carolina’s spirits may have been dampend with a couple of minor player injuries….they still held their own against LA. The Hurricane’s have lost seven straight games.

Justin Williams of the Kings made his fifth goal of the season. Power play goals are needed to make it to the playoffs. LA pucked their way to a 5-2 victory over Carolina.
1. Randy Jones (LA-Goal Assists), 2. Tuomo Ruutu (LA-Goal Assists) and 3. Justin Williams(LA-2 Goals) were all selected as the three Stars of the Game.

Did Michael Vick make a bad decision returning to the NFL? Jim Hasslett coach of the Florida Tuskers a team in the UFL, seems to think that he did. Haslett stated earlier today, that his team tried to obtain Vick without any success. If Vick had accepted the offer from the Florida Tuskers….he would have had the opportunity to play the position of QB. “He’s not gonna beat McNabb as QB,”stated Haslett.

Michael Vick is more of an asset off of the field than on it. The Main Line Animal Rescue(MLAR) is donating four tons of dog food to animal shelters, every time Vick gets tackled during a season game. Now how’s that for creative revenge?
